BOARD MEMBERS

Vision:

Kind-Hearted Compassion in Action is a 501(c)(3) registered non profit organization.  Our board members consist of passionately dedicated individuals working to provide a platform to elevate exceptional musicians, artists and activists.

Mission:

Our mission is to elevate these exceptional people beyond adverse circumstances and provide a platform to create and share their genius to raise the consciousness of the world by creating positive social change through awareness, activism and action.

Pamela Tahim - Co-President
"Be the change you wish to see in this world."~ Mahatama Gandhi.  That is the reason Dr. Sonia Singh and Pamela founded Kind-Hearted Compassion in Action Foundation ("KHCAF). The last conversation Pamela had with her late brother Jasdeep ("Jesse") Tahim was his request to help him start a movement through music and art to uplift the consciousness of humanity. Unbeknownst to Jesse’s family and friends, Jesse would take his last breath a few days later at the young age of 24, leaving that mission with Pamela and Sonia. Since then, without much effort, Sonia and Pamela started meeting people with the same goals and we moved forward with the non-profit.

“This journey has truly been one of the greatest blessings in my life and I am honored to part of this movement to elevate the consciousness of our world through music and art by supporting exceptional musicians, artists and activists through KHCAF, who have dealt with adversity,” says Pamela.  Pamela is an attorney by profession working as a senior associate at a Southern California based law firm Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle, LLP , a wife, and mother of two boys, ages 6 and 4. She believes that by supporting artists and musicians whose work is socially conscious for raising awareness of critical social issues and activism, KHACF can develop a movement of positive music for our future generations.

Pamela has run non-profits previously and also is very passionate about non-profit work.  She previously ran the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California, Public Interest Foundation for three years as the President and Vice President, whose mission was to empower those in the South Asian community who were victims of violence and in need of critical legal services.  She is also currently the Treasurer of the Women's Transitional Living Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families escape the depths of domestic violence and exploitation and provides the tools and resources to build self-esteem and empower people for independent living.

Sonia Singh - Co-President
Born and raised in Canada, and a graduate of Pepperdine University, Sonia has worked as a Clinical Psychologist in Southern California for the past 10 years and is passionate about helping others. She believes that one person can make a difference and can change the world! She has held various positions as a psychologist and a director with nonprofit organizations where she worked to create programs and make services accessible to those that suffer from severe mental illness and also represent some of the most at-risk populations due to homelessness, incarceration, addiction, and marginalization. She worked as a program director for a South Asian non-profit organization, Indo American Cultural Center (IACC) and was also involved with their South Asian artist collective and festival, Artwallah. She received the Professional Woman of the Year Award from the South Asian Business Alliance Network (SABAN) in 2013.  Currently, she is in private practice in Orange County and seeks to help those at risk through philanthropic efforts with Kind-Hearted Compassion in Action. Sonia is co-president and co-founder of Kind-Hearted Compassion in Action Foundation.

Charles Reyes - Vice President
“Kind-Hearted Compassion in Action” is the true meaning of life, force and belief to our Vice President and Treasurer, Charles Reyes. For over 11 years, Charles has been an active committee member of Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship in Anaheim. He leads weekly connect groups and is involved in community outreaches and programs for the less fortunate, including his joy for music through leading as the director of the musician’s worship team.

His heart and passion for giving to the community, third-world countries, and humanitarian efforts has been one of his number one priorities in life. This is where Jasdeep Tahim, the inspiration of KHCAF and Charles were able to share such a kindred love for humanity in their friendship. He has countless memories of their conversations regarding mission trips, music and hip-hop and how one day, through one voice, a message of hope and love reach the world…“Kind Hearted Compassion in Action.”

Charles lives in Orange County with his wife and two children. He works as an investment manager and employee benefits consultant for Tahim Financial Group in the city of Anaheim.
